PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum-type washing machine configured to use a vibration detecting means 58 mounted to a water tub 32 to detect the oscillation amplitude of the water tub 32 in a rotation-frequency band in a spin-drying step without necessarily controlling a preliminary spin-drying, wherein when the oscillation amplitude is small, spin-drying is started, and when the oscillation amplitude is large, a rotation drum 30 is stopped to control the spin-drying to be retried, thus, washing time and power consumption are reduced, and the probability of activation of high-speed rotation is improved. SOLUTION: The washing machine is configured such that laundry is prevented from sticking to the rotation drum even if the rotation drum is stopped in the spin-drying step to detect the output of the vibration detecting means in a rotation-frequency band in which much water is removed from the laundry, thereby controlling the number of rotation of the drum.
