AUTOMATIC SETTING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SWITCHED LINE BASED ON TRAFFIC PREDICTION IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To configure an optical network that responds to a dynamic change in data traffic demands.

SOLUTION: An optical network is configured so as to use a first portion 108 of an optical path for high-priority traffic and to use a second portion 110 of the optical path for low-priority traffic. The high-priority traffic entering a high-priority optical path is monitored. If burst of the high-priority traffic is detected, network resources enabled by canceling at least a low-priority optical path are used to newly set a temporary optical path, and high-priority traffic is routed onto the temporary optical path.
