The plate processing system (10) has a support table (12) for fitting a plate-shaped work piece (42), a feed device (20) for moving the work piece along a direction (44), and a milling unit movable along another direction (46) lateral to the former direction. A suction device (40) is arranged outside a working plane (64) and is movable along the latter direction. The suction device is stretched by a rotation axis of a milling spindle of the milling unit on one hand and by an axis of carriage (32) carrying the milling device moving parallel to the latter direction on the other hand.
