<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball-shaped toy for a pet cat, which solves the problem that even though a tennis ball or rubber ball or the like for the purpose of making a pet cat play or exercise, such conventional balls only roll straight, stimulating no significantly the pet cat's curiosity and resulting in often getting tired in a short time; therefore, there have often been the cases of not making pet cats sufficiently exercise. <P>SOLUTION: The ball-shaped toy for a pet cat is such that: the inner wall of a ball (1) made of a plastic material or the like is arranged with some upheavals (3) and projections (4) inside and a metallic ball (2) is put into the ball (1); thus, when force is applied to the ball from the outside, the metallic ball acts on the upheavals and projections (4) on the inner wall of the ball, and the metallic ball displays unpredictable rolling modes, leading to stimulate the curiosity and hunting instinct of the pet cat.
