PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor having superior transient response and a large capacitance by laminating a plurality of capacitor elements on an insulating substrate and sharing a current circuit of each of the capacitor elements, and to provide a method for manufacturing the solid electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: In a substrate forming step, a through-hole 1a is formed. In an electrode forming step, anode and cathode electrodes 2a, 2b are formed. In an insulation processing step, an insulating coating 3 is formed on the cathode electrode 2b. In a first element forming step, a first capacitor element portion 4a is formed on the upper surface portion of the substrate 1. In a second element forming step, a capacitor element portion 4b is formed on the upper surface of an anode electrode 2c. In a cathode lead-out step, a cathode lead-out portion 5 is formed on the upper surface of the capacitor element portion 4. In a capacitor connecting step, the tips of the first capacitor element portion 4a and the cathode electrode 2b are connected to the capacitor element portion 4b.
