PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair including a tilt mechanism having a compact structure and a sufficient strength. SOLUTION: The wheelchair includes a main frame 10, a seat section 20, front wheels 30, rear wheels 32, and an axle position adjusting mechanism 40 by which a vertical position of the axle 34 of the rear wheel 32 is adjusted relative to the main frame 10. The inclination angle of the seat surface of the seat section 20 to the ground contact surface G is varied in accordance with the position of the axle 34 of the rear wheels 32 which is adjusted by the axle position adjusting mechanism 40.
