<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an light emitting device capable of improving an uneven color of illuminating light emitted by a wavelength conversion member which is generated depending on the direction of emission. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes: an excitation light source emitting excited light; the wavelength conversion member absorbing the excited light emitted by the excitation light source, converting the wavelength of the light, and emitting wavelength-converted light in a different wavelength range; and a light guiding means provided with the excitation light source at its one end side and the wavelength conversion member at the other end side, guiding the excited light emitted by the excitation light source to the wavelength conversion member.
