RETARDATION FILM, TRANSFLECTIVE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RETARDATION FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device that is efficiently manufactured by a simplified method and has superior display performance.

SOLUTION: A retardation film includes a light-transmissive plane (20) and a solidified liquid crystal layer (230) which is supported on the plane body and is formed as a continuous film made of the same material. The solidified liquid crystal layer includes an anisotropic phase part (230R) having refractive index anisotropy and an isotropic phase part (230T) not having refractive index anisotropy, and a boundary (230H)between the anisotropic phase part and the isotropic phase part has a width of <8 μm.
