<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device that is efficiently manufactured by a simplified method and has superior display performance. <P>SOLUTION: A retardation film includes a light-transmissive plane (20) and a solidified liquid crystal layer (230) which is supported on the plane body and is formed as a continuous film made of the same material.
