PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC magnetic field application device for applying an AC magnetic field to a test target article such as an MR head by using a permanent magnet or an electromagnet of a DC application driving type as a magnetic field source. SOLUTION: The AC magnetic field application device for applying an AC magnetic field to a test target article includes: a magnetic field source fixed in a position facing the test target article and configured to supply a fixed magnetic field; a magnetic shielding plate with a disk slit, disposed between the magnetic field generation source and the test target article and having a slit partially formed to allow passage of the magnetic field from the magnetic field source; and a driving part for rotating the magnetic shielding plate with the slit around a rotary axis.
