PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersant for preventing flocculation and sedimentation and improving stability by mixing a compound having a predetermined chemical structure as the dispersant when dispersing an inorganic compound in a fine particle shape of large true specific gravity in an aqueous medium. SOLUTION: The dispersant includes the compound in which a hydroxyl group of sugar and polybasic acid having at least two carboxyl groups in one molecule are ester-bonded, and the compound has at least one carboxyl group in one molecule.
