PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive apparatus of a structure capable of suppressing conventional cost-increasing factors even in a vehicle drive apparatus of a type in which specification with a motor-driven oil pump is mixed with that without the motor-driven oil pump. SOLUTION: The vehicle drive apparatus includes: a supply oil passages formed in the case body that accommodates a speed change mechanism; a connection case 30 connecting the engine and the case body; a mechanical oil pump 80 which is positioned in a connection region between the case body and the connection case 30 and has an inlet oil passage 35 and an outlet oil passage which are connected to the supply oil passage; an electric oil pump 70 capable of supplying pressure oil to the supply oil passages in parallel with the mechanical oil pump; and connection oil passages 93 which are formed at the connection case 30 to make an inlet oil passage and an outlet oil passage of the electric oil pump 70 communicate with the supply oil passages.
