DOPING METHOD, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING NANOPARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a doping method of doping a transparent member such as glass with an impurity, to provide a doping method by which optical characteristics of a transparent member can be significantly changed by an easy method, and to provide a method for manufacturing an optical member and a method for producing nanoparticles, as a method for manufacturing an optical device by using the doping method and as a method for producing nanoparticles of an impurity in a transparent member. SOLUTION: A transparent member 1 is doped with an impurity 2 in the following process. While allowing the impurity 2 to be in contact with one surface of the transparent member 1, the transparent member 1 is irradiated with an ultrashort pulse laser beam 4 through a surface in the opposite side to the one surface so as to produce a filament region 5, which generates by the self-converging effect of the ultrashort pulse laser beam 4 in the transparent member 1, in a contact portion between the transparent member 1 and the impurity 2.
