A profile system for forming the cross-section of flat keys, in particular, locking devices with substantially plane and about parallel flat key sides, the key rear side and opposite toothed bit of the key for positioning fastening pins which are central pins and body pins being spring-loaded in corresponding key channels, cylindrical cores to the key bit end in the direction to the key rear side, wherein cut-in grooves or ribs are provided in the plane sides of the flat key as guiding and variation profile elements, and a branching groove or branching rib branches off from at least one groove in the flat key or rib in the key channel, and its groove direction or angular position are different from that of the groove, characterized in that the branching groove (4, 8, 17) is provided at some distance from the bottom of the guide groove (2, 3) in the flat key (7) and correspondingly the branching rib (4', 8') at a distance from the bottom of the guide rib (2', 3'). 2. The profile system of claim 1, characterized in that the guide profile grooves (2, 3) and the guide profile ribs (2', 3'), as guiding and variation profile elements on the middle part of the key (7) bit cross-section and correspondingly elements on the middle part of the key channel (9), as overlapping profile elements disposed opposite each other from both plane key sides and correspondingly from the side walls of the key channel, are made with at least one branching groove (4, 8) on the rib (2', 3') of the flat key (7) and correspondingly with the branching rib (4', 8') in the key channel (9). 3. The profile system of claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the width of the branching groove(s) (4, 8, 17) constitutes about 1/3 of a lateral surface and correspondingly of the groove (2, 3, 16) bottom from which the branching groove branches off. 4. A profile system for forming the cross-section of flat keys, in particular, locking devices with substantially plane and about parallel flat key sides, the key rear side and opposite toothed bit of the key for positioning fastening pins which are central pins and body pins, characterized in that from at least one groove (2, 3) of the opposite grooves (2, 3) on the middle part of the key bit cross-section branches off at least one groove as a branching groove (4, 8) and directions of the opposite grooves (2, 3) and the branching groove (4, 8) cuttings are different and diverging at a 60 degree angle, for example.
