The invention relates to the production of minimal peptide units which are bioactive as antihypertensive agents from egg white that has been subjected to enzymatic treatment. Said ovoproducts, complete hydrolyzates, the fractions thereof with low molecular weight or the constituent peptides of same could be used as therapeutic substances with antihypertensive activity, either as functional food products, food additives or ingredients or pharmaceutical products for the treatment and/or prevention of arterial hypertension in all its forms in humans or animals and for the treatment and/or prevention of any disorder associated with arterial hypertension in humans or animals.
