<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaning apparatus which simply provides a constitution capable of extensively and efficiently irradiating a photocatalyst holder of a shape having two or more through holes with UV using a UV light source. <P>SOLUTION: The air cleaning apparatus includes an LED 40, a light guide plate 32, and a honeycomb activated carbon 21. The light guide plate 32 comprises: an incident part 50 upon which the UV from the LED 40 is incident; and an outgoing surface 51 where the UV incident from the incident part 50 is propagated inside and made outgoing. The honeycomb activated carbon 21 has a plurality of elongated through holes 71 and holds a photocatalyst on the inner walls of the through holes 71. The light guide plate 32 has, in the side opposite from the outgoing surface 51, a plurality of fine-shaped concave reflection parts 41 each having the shape of a concave and which are dotted about. The honeycomb activated carbon 21 is disposed so that the longitudinal direction of the through holes 71 inclines with respect to the direction vertical to the outgoing surface 51. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
