The device has an insertion element (1) inserted into a folded airbag (2) and exhibiting length that corresponds to length of a section of an airbag package. The insertion element exhibits height that corresponds to height of the airbag package. The insertion element is connected with airbag layers (21, 22) by a fastening part that is designed as a locking element. The fastening part functions as an attachment of the device in a vehicle, and the insertion element is designed as an elongated profile, a flat profile, an angular profile or a round profile. The device is designed in a form of a helmet device. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an air bag device.
