<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an antiglare film which shows excellent antiglare performance, prevents deterioration in visibility due to whitening, and develops high contrast without causing dazzling when it is arranged on the surface of a high-definition image-forming device, and also to provide a method for manufacturing a metal mold for obtaining the antiglare film. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the antiglare film uses a pattern in which a number of multiple kinds of dots having different dot sizes are randomly arranged, the antiglare film having a micro concave and convex surface formed on a transparent base material. The average dot size is 6-30 μm, and the variation coefficient of the dot sizes is 0.1-0.5, and the energy spectrum of the pattern has no maximum value in a range of >0 μm<SP>-1</SP>and ≤0.04 μm<SP>-1</SP>.
