PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-rolled T-shaped steel which has excellent tensile properties and toughness and can be produced at a low cost. SOLUTION: The hot-rolled T-shaped steel has a componential composition containing, by mass%, 0.07 to 0.23% C, 0.10 to 0.50% Si, 0.4 to 2.0% Mn,≤0.025% P,≤0.01% S, 0.005 to 0.10% Al and 0.001 to 0.008% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and has a metallic structure composed of ferrite including deformed ferrite and pearlite, wherein the area fraction of the deformed ferrite is≥10%.
