PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for rationally arranging a sheet pile, which can reduce the used amount of sheet pile and achieve a reduction in construction cost, by arranging the optimum sheet pile coping with the depth-direction stress and deformation of a wall body, in the construction of the earth retaining wall. SOLUTION: In this method for constructing the sheet pile, the earth retaining wall is constructed by driving the sheet piles in a horizontally continuous manner into the ground. When the sheet piles are driven into the ground, the sheet piles, which have an embedment depth below an excavation bottom set great, are installed in such a manner as to be mixed with the sheet piles which have the embedment depth set shallow, or to be mixed with the sheet piles different in cross-sectional shape, depending on the depth-direction stress and deformation of the earth retaining wall and ground conditions.
