<p>Provided is a recording apparatus for reliably recording content data representing a program on the air and recording the content data into a suitable recording medium. A recorder (recording apparatus) (1) is provided with a storage unit (12) separately from an optical disk drive (11). The storage unit (12) has a plurality of storage areas. The recorder (1) registers a specific optical disk (recording medium) in association with a specific storage area and defines a reserve area (non-associated storage area) which is associated with no optical disk in the storage unit (12). When the recorder (1) receives an instruction of recording a program on the air, the recorder (1) stores content data in the reserve area, and thereafter the recorder (1) copies the stored content data to another storage area and records the content data into the optical disk associated with the storage area or records the content data into an unregistered optical disk. When a recording reservation is used, the recorder (1) stores the content data in the storage area associated with the optical disk and records the content data into the optical disk.</p> |
