A dairy derived composition comprising beta-lactoglobulin, IGF and TGF-beta for use in treating chronic intestinal inflammatory disease

Disclosed is a composition comprising TGF-beta1 at a concentration between about 0.1 and 5ìg/g of composition, TGF-beta2 at a concentration between about 5 and 50ìg/g of composition, the composition further comprises IGF-1 and is least 15% (w/w) of whey proteins from which at least 60% is beta-lactoglobulin. Further disclosed is the use of the composition in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of chronic intestinal inflammatory diseases such as Crohn's disease.
