PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner causing less fog and helping satisfactory cleaning. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner includes mixing in a high speed agitator colored resin particles with an external additive containing silica microparticles (A) having Dv50/Dv10 of 1.8 or more, where Dv10 and Dv50 represent the particle diameters at which a cumulative volume starting from the small particle diameter side is 10% and 50%, respectively, a volume average particle diameter of 0.1-1.0μm and a sphericity of 1-1.3 and silica microparticles (B) having a volume average particle diameter of 7-30 nm, in the conditions that the amount of the silica microparticles (A) is 0.3-5 pts.wt. of 100 pts.wt. of the colored resin particles and that the amount of the silica microparticles (B) is 0.1-3 pts.wt. of 100 pts.wt. of the colored resin particles.
