PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat exchanger capable of securely carrying out heat exchange between steam and cooling fluid. SOLUTION: A steam supply pipe 2 and a cooling fluid supply pipe 3 are respectively connected to a heat exchanging container 1. A liquid ejector 4 is arranged above the heat exchanging container 1 to connect with a suction chamber 9 via a communication pipe 8. A condensate discharge pipe 7 of the heat exchanging container 1 is connected to a condensate inflow port 11 of a liquid pressure-feeding pump 5, and a condensate pressure-feeding port 15 is connected to a condensate pressure-feeding pipeline 17. The upper end of the condensate pressure-feeding pipeline 17 is connected to the liquid ejector 4. Inside of the heat exchanging container 1 is also sucked by suction force generated in the liquid ejector 4 and made to be a decompression state not more than the atmospheric pressure, which can make a lot of steam flow from a steam generation source into the heat exchanging container 1.
