<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in face authentication processing, without provision of special video equipment, etc. <P>SOLUTION: A face authentication device 100 includes a face collation unit 56 for obtaining the degree of resemblance between an input face image data inputted and a plurality of registered face feature information sets registered in advance, and for extracting registered face feature information having the degree of resemblance with the input face image data at a predetermined value or higher. The registered face feature information is registered together with registered attribute information in regard to a person relative to the registered face feature information. The face authentication device 100 further includes a face authentication unit 50 for identifying the registered face feature information, including a person relative to the input face image data, from the plurality of registered face feature information sets extracted by a face collation unit 56. The face authentication unit 50 includes: a gender/age estimation unit 54 for outputting attribute information by estimating the attribute of the person relative to the image face image data; and a gender/age comparison unit 58 for comparing the outputted attribute information with the registered attribute information of the plurality of registered face feature information sets.
