COLOR IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device capable of optically and properly correcting the subscanning positional displacement of a light beam when forming color images in a simple (inexpensive) constitution with good accuracy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The light beam scanning device of the color image forming apparatus is equipped with a synchronous detecting sensor 21 as the first light beam detector in the front end in the main scanning direction and a rear end sensor 22 as the second light beam detector in the rear end of the main scanning direction. The light beam entering the rear end sensor 22 is used as a reference beam for correcting the subscanning positional displacement by the detected signal of the synchronous detecting sensor 21 and the detected signal of the rear end sensor 22 and other light beams of a plurality of light beams entering the synchronous detecting sensor 21 is used for correcting the subscanning positional displacement by referring the table (schematic illustration) showing the correlation with the reference beam.
