<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter having improved durability and reliability by suppressing wear of a seal component. <P>SOLUTION: In the starter 1 in which a pinion movable body in which a pinion gear 4 and a one-way clutch 5 are integrated moves on an output shaft 3, a holder 6 is attached to the one-way clutch 5. A seal component 8 having a shape of a ring is provided so that an end of an outer circumference of the seal component 8 is fixed to a nose part 7a of a housing 7 and an end of an inner circumference of the seal component 8 slidably contacts an outer circumferential surface of the holder 6. The holder 6 is provided so that relative rotation to the one-way clutch 5 is possible. Since the holder 6 does not rotate relative to the housing 7, wear of the seal component 8 is reduced compared with the case where the seal component 8 contacts the one-way clutch 5 which rapidly rotates, whereby the sealability preventing a foreign substance or water from infiltrating into the inside of the starter 1 can be maintained for a long period of time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
