<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for fixing an optical member which is able to fix an optical member in a holding member, without fail, while preventing distortions, or the like, from occurring, regardless of the size, or the like, of the optical member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The device 1 for fixing the optical member is a fixing device for fixing a lens 5 in a lens frame 6, having a caulking part that can be deformed plastically. The device includes a fixed part 2 in which the lens frame 6 is fixed; a caulking bar 3 which moves relative to the fixed part 2, thereby abutting against the caulking part of the lens frame 6 fixed in the fixed part 2 and pressing against the caulking part; and a detection means 40 which detects load acting on the caulking part, when the caulking rod 3 presses against the caulking part.
