摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an input engine speed cannot follow a target engine speed, or change of the input engine speed is earlier than the target engine speed, and thereby, dispersion is generated in a shift speed during shift control to the target engine speed by shifting a stepped transmission mechanism between an engagement side and a disengagement side. <P>SOLUTION: This control apparatus for the automatic transmission includes a control means for controlling the engine speed input to the stepped transmission mechanism to the target input engine speed. In the control means, one of a first engagement part or a second engagement part functions as a control side engagement part for controlling the input engine speed of the stepped transmission mechanism to the target value during an inertia phase in shift controlling the stepped transmission mechanism, and when a capacity target value of the control side engagement part is lower than the capacity target value when lowering torque T<SB>1</SB>of the engagement part to zero, it is determined that the input engine speed of the stepped transmission mechanism cannot follow the target value by the control side engagement part, and torque T<SB>2</SB>of a non-control side engagement part is increased for a deficient amount below the capacity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p>
