PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner capable of preventing scattering of condensed water from a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: In the indoor unit Y1 for the air conditioner, the heat exchanger 2 for exchanging heat between air and a refrigerant, an air blower 3 for sending air to the heat exchanger 2 and a drain pan 8 for receiving condensed water generated on the surface of the heat exchanger 2 during cooling operation are provided within a unit casing 1. A plurality of fins 7 arranged approximately in parallel with the air flowing direction (arrow F) are disposed to be separated at predetermined pitches in the direction intersecting with the air flowing direction, and refrigerant pipes 15 are penetrated through the plurality of juxtaposed fins 7 in the direction intersecting with the air flowing direction so as to form heat exchange blocks. The heat exchanger 2 is constituted by arranging the plurality of heat exchange blocks in the air flowing direction.
