<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a lipid quantity contained inside an object to be measured simply and accurately, by Raman spectroscopy, and to provide a contact agent which can be used for a microscopic spectroscopy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method, the object to be measured 10 is placed on a surface of a sample table 5 which can transmit laser light 30, and its opposite side is irradiated with the laser light 30; and the lipid quantity of the object to be measured 10 is measured from spectroscopic information of Raman light scattering obtained from the irradiation. The method for measuring the lipid quantity is such that the contact agent, includes a compound containing no C-H bonded hydrogen atom in the molecule and being a liquid at its measurement temperature, is disposed between the sample table 5 and the object to be measured 10; and the contact agent 50, disposed between the object to be measured 10 and the sample table 5 which can transmit the laser light 30, and used in a microscopic spectroscopy operation and contains deuterated compound liquid at the measurement temperature.
