PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse a support base material, while favorably maintaining separability with respect to a polyimide film, in manufacture of the polyimide film by a cast method. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the polyimide film includes (a) a process for applying a polyamide acid solution on one face of the support base material having polyimide resin surfaces on both faces in obverse and reverse sides, followed to be dried, and for forming a polyamide acid layer, (b) a process for imidizing the polyamide acid layer by heat-treating the polyamide acid layer, to lamination-form the polyimide film on the support base material, and (c) a process for separating the polyimide film from the support base material, one cycle or more is executed using the processes from the process (a) to the process (c) as the one cycle, after the process (c), and the process (a) of the next cycle is executed using the face of the support base material opposite to the face with the polyimide film separated in the process (c) of the last cycle.
