PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine for preventing variable performance that does not reflect a player's game button operation from appearing and a player from becoming angry by not performing selection of a variable mode that uses a game button, when the game button is out of order. SOLUTION: When a sub-controller receives a command to instruct a variable pattern from a main controller, it determines whether or not the game button is out of order, and selects the variable mode which does not use the game button on the condition that the game button is out of order.
