PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual inspection device of a resin molded article capable of detecting irregular defects produced on a surface decorated with a pattern. SOLUTION: The visual inspection device includes a light source 21 having definite directionality and a camera 31 for photographing reflected light. The light source 21 emits principal emitting light in the direction of an emitting optical axis 22, and also radiation angle light having a definite expanse angle centering around the emitting optical axis. The principal emitting light from the light source 21 is shielded by arranging a shield plate 25 in the light path between the light source 21 and an inspection target 41, thereby forming a radiation angle light illuminating region 46 on the surface of the inspection target. A photographed image is obtained by photographing the radiation angle light illuminating region 46 by the camera 31, and the irregular defects is inspected from the photographed image.
