<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device efficiently raising the temperature of a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: In this exhaust emission control device, a catalyst carrier 12 includes: a base 21 made of carbon; and a thin film 22 made of SiC and formed on the surface of the base 21. The thin film 22 supports the catalyst. As for an electrode 15, each electrode bar 15a forming the electrode 15 is connected to the thin film 22 in such a way that the electrode bar 15a is brought into contact along the end surface 22a of the thin film 22. When electric current is carried to the thin film 22, the temperature of the catalyst supported by the thin film 22 is raised by the resistance heating of the SiC. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
