<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dope, which is useful for the production of a polyoxazole molded article having excellent heat resistance and mechanical properties, and to provide a method for producing a fiber by using the dope. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The dope comprises an aqueous solution containing a polyamide having a repeating unit represented by the formula (I) and having an intrinsic viscosity of 1 or greater and a quaternary ammonium hydroxide, wherein the concentration of the polyamide is more than 10 wt.% and not more than 25 wt.%, and which exhibits optical anisotropy at 50°C.
