<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system for enabling ordinary households and corporate offices to light-heartedly participate in efforts to reduce CO<SB>2</SB>for enhancing participants' environment consciousness. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing system includes: a plurality of measurement units; and a summary server connected to the plurality of measurement units via a network. Each of the measurement units includes: a detector for measuring the amount of energy usage; and a unit controller for generating an individual data piece including information on the amount of energy usage measured by the detection section or information on carbon dioxide emission calculated from the amount of usage measured by the detection section. The summary server includes: a storage for storing a reference amount of usage that becomes a criterion on whether the amount of emission of carbon dioxide has been reduced on each of individual data pieces; and a controller which, when receiving individual data pieces generated by each of the plurality of measurement units, calculates the amount of carbon dioxide that has been reduced as a surplus value on the basis of the amount of carbon dioxide emission calculated from the amount of usage of the plurality of received individual data pieces or the amounts of emission of the plurality of individual data pieces and the reference amounts of usage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
