PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus for surely bringing a holding member into a desired attitude when reading an image. SOLUTION: By sliding an adjustment section 38 along a crossing direction A, relative positions of a plurality of inserting parts 371, 381 in a main scanning direction are adjusted. Thus, an angle of a holding member 31 with respect to a supporting shaft 32 inserted into the plurality of inserting parts 371, 381 is arbitrarily set. Therefore, an angle of the holding member 31 tilting beforehand with respect to the supporting shaft 32 is accurately adjusted while considering tilting of the holding member 31 caused by clearance between the supporting shaft 32 and the inserting parts 371, 381 during image reading, thereby surely bringing the holding member 31 into a desired attitude when reading an image.
