<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device, easily restraining variation in chromaticity in spite of a difference in whiteness tolerance of a backlight. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel to which an image signal is input; and the backlight disposed at one side of the liquid crystal display panel, wherein a light source of the backlight is formed by a light-emitting diode. Information on the whiteness tolerance of the light source formed by the light-emitting diode, which is the information showing one rank obtained by ranking the whiteness tolerance into two or more ranks, is shown on a portion of the backlight. The device includes an image quality processing circuit to which the information can be input and which can correct gamma characteristics of the image signal according to the information.
