PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging and discharging system of a portable electronic device and a charging and discharging control method which controls the charging and discharging of a secondary battery by utilizing an MPU of the portable electronic device having the mounted secondary battery. SOLUTION: The charging and discharging system of a portable electronic device has a secondary battery including an at least one bare cell. The secondary battery includes a charging and discharging switching module which switches the state of the secondary battery between the charging state for charging the at least one bare cell and the discharging state for discharging the at least one bare cell, and includes an analog front end which generates an analog signal from an information detected in relation to the secondary battery, and transmits the analog signal to the external of the secondary battery. Further, the portable electronic device has a processor which is disposed in the external of the secondary battery, and receives the analog signal from the analog front end, and further, controls the charging and discharging switching module in response to the analog signal.
