<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk playback device for exclusive use of 12 cm disk, wherein a 12 cm disk is carried, while an inclination is corrected, when the disk is inserted inclined, and an 8 cm disk is once received and then is discharged, when the 8 cm disk is wrongly inserted. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When either right and left detection levers 7L, 7R allows its disk-abutting part to be pressed by a disk and the detection lever synchronously rotates, the rotation amount of the detection lever is limited so that an 8 cm disk passes, but a 12 cm disk does not pass through a gap between both disk abutting parts; and when both of the disk abutting parts are pressed by the 12 cm disk, the limit is not imposed, but both of the detection levers are rotated, and the disk carried within a limit is determined to be an 8 cm disk and discharged.
