<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, when a power supply switch is turned on and a voice coil motor for driving a shift lens is in an energized state, a shift lens is held to float, but when power is not supplied, holding force of the shift lens is released, and the shift lens drops by gravity, consequently, a lens holding frame holding the shift lens happens to collide with an inner wall of a lens barrel, thereby possibly causing a shock and offensive collision sound in such a case. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By decreasing a feedback gain in shift lens control stepwise during feedback control stopping operation, the shock and the collision sound caused between the inner wall of the lens barrel and a movable lens when the movable lens floated by vibration-proof control drops by the gravity are avoided.
