The device (1) has a slider (4) that is moved to a closing position or an opening position using an adjusting element (8) e.g. double-acting hydraulic cylinder, operative in two adjustment directions. The slider is supported on a stop element (13) in the opening position. A spring element is arranged between the slider and the adjusting element and operates as a dead point spring together with the slider. The spring element moves the slider after adjustment of the adjusting element in a direction of the opening position or in a direction of the closing position.
