PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable and long-life electrolytic solution for driving with a small expansion in a reflow process at a high temperature, and to provide a highly reliable electrolytic capacitor using the same. SOLUTION: The electrolytic solution is provided for driving the electrolytic capacitor including an electrolyte of a salt (A) consisting of an organic solvent, an onium cation (a) and an anion of multivalent carboxylic acid (b), and a compound represented by the following general formula (chemical formula 1), and the electrolytic capacitor using the same is also provided.
