PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a long body with projections which can easily and promptly measure the outer and root diameters and the projection height of the long body with projections. SOLUTION: In the method, the long body 10 with a large number of projections 11 is moved in the direction of the axis L<SB>0</SB>. A first and second reflection type two-dimensional displacement sensors 1, 2 are disposed on the sides opposite to each other across a longitudinal plane S containing the axis L<SB>0</SB>of the long body 10. The first sensor 1 makes a measurement of a first narrow range on one side of the one longitudinal plane S of the long body 10, and the second sensor 2 makes a measurement of a second narrow range on the other side of the one longitudinal plane S of the long body 10.
