<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology with which, when photographing a person who is a subject, a smiling face of the person can be determined with high certainty. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention includes: an imaging section for imaging a subject by reading out all pixels of an imaging device or by thinned readout to generate an image; a face detecting section for detecting a face of the subject using the image captured by thinned readout; a face recognizing section for recognizing shapes of teeth, corners of the mouth and the corners of the eyes together with the detected face of the subject; an expression determining section for determining a smiling face of the subject in the case the recognized shapes of the teeth, the corners of the mouth and the corners of the eyes are matched with at least one of smiling-face conditions comprised of three conditions determined on the basis of the shapes of the teeth, the corners of the mouth and the corners of the eyes; and a control section which issues a command for imaging the subject by full-pixel readout to the imaging section when the expression determining section determines the smiling face of the subject. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
