PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for sensing separation of melting-again ingot from melt are provided to prevent ingot drop from being delayed. CONSTITUTION: A load(110) is located on a conductive line through which a current is supplied to a seed cable. A voltmeter(130) measures a voltage which is dropped by the load. A controller(150) compares the measured voltage which is outputted from the voltmeter with a reference voltage. An alarm(170) generates an alarm when the measured voltage is less than the reference voltage.
