<p>An elevator device has position sensors mounted in a hoistway so as to be spaced apart in the top-bottom direction. An encoder generates a signal which corresponds to travel of an elevator car. A car position detecting device determines in which zone, among zones in the hoistway divided by the position sensors, the elevator car is present based on the previously measured distances between the position sensors, the distance of travel of the elevator car from a stop state which distance is obtained from a signal from the encoder, and signals from the position sensors.</p> |
