PURPOSE: An apparatus for testing a port of a DPRAM(Dual Port RAM) and a method thereof are provided to test port of DPRAM which processor is not directly connected to one port of the DPRAM thereby improving reliability of system using the DPRAM. CONSTITUTION: A determining unit(172) determines connection between other port of DPRAM(Dual Port RAM) and slave(150). If plural DPRAMs exist, a chip selector selects DPRAM corresponding to the address signal based on an address signal received from a master(110). If plural DPRAMs do not exist and the slave is not connected to other port of the DPRAM, a communication control unit(174) loads an enable signal to the communication unit to test other port of the DPRAM through communication unit by the master.
