PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of performing band-limiting to minimize the influence of an interfering wave. SOLUTION: The receiver 1 is provided with a variable filter 12 that can change a center frequency and a bandwidth of a frequency passband, and expands the passband width of the variable filter 12 during an increase in a signal-to-noise ratio calculated on the basis of a received signal that passes through the variable filter 12. When an interfering wave is included within the passband as a result of continuing to expand the passband of the variable filter 12 to lower a signal-to-noise ratio to be calculated, the passband of the variable filter 12 is set to the passband just before the signal-to-noise is lowered. Consequently, the passband of the variable filter 12 can be adjusted so as to be widest within the range where the interfering wave is not mixed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
