PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a papermaking method excellent in adhesion among web fibers and enabling good crepe to be formed through forming a sufficiently hard film on a Yankee dryer when conducting a papermaking operation. SOLUTION: The papermaking method includes coating a dryer with an adhesive for creping, wherein the adhesive contains (A) a polyamide-polyamine epihalohydrin resin and/or (B) a polyamide-polyamine-polyurea epihalohydrin resin, and (C) a water-soluble cellulose derivative, and has an ionic degree at pH 10 is -4.0 to +1.0 meq per g of the solids.
